IN THE RELATIVISTIC SPACE-TIME DOMAIN D0, (PSEUDO - EUCLIDEAN SPACE - TIME) The links below are to the Sections of the paper on this subject. |
|
Introduction - The first section contains a title page, a brief abstract and the main introduction. Matter Waves - Using both Max Plank's quantum energy, and Louis de Broglie's quantum momentum hypotheses, the second section investigates the characteristics of de Broglie matter waves within Pseudo-Euclidean Space - Time, and shows these to be spatial - temporal in nature. Their characteristics - frequency, wavelength and velocity of propogation - are studied for (i) a stationary particle, (ii) a particle in motion at the speed of light, and (iii) the general case, a particle in motion at a finite velocity. This latter case results in a relativistic version of de Broglie's quantum momentun equation. Matter wave phase velocities are also analysed and shown to be an illusionary concept. Spatial-Temporal Energy Distribution - The third section deals with the nature of matter energy within D0 and, in concert with de Broglie matter waves, shows this to also possesses both spatial and temporal components. This is then used to provide a new simple derivation of Einstein's relativistic energy-momentum relationship, which is reviewed in some depth. Conclusions - Concluding remarks. |
